The Newbery Project

Folks, some of the Newbery books (hello, 1920s!) are giving me a hard time. I recently went in search of other opinions on the oldest Newbery books, hoping to find some insight on the oldest books. Lo and behold, I found The Newbery Project!

The Newbery Project is a group blog, meaning that anyone who signs up for the project is allowed to post her/his thoughts on their reading. Participants in The Newbery Project are working their way through the Newbery list (Medalists only; they're not reading the Honor books). There's no order in which they must read the books, and there's no time limit.

So, if you're like me and wanting to commiserate with fellow readers on reading (or attempting to read) The Story of Mankind, or enthuse over Shiloh or Sarah, Plain and Tall, this is the place for you. You don't need a blog; all you need is an email address to sign up. You read at your own pace, but the idea is to read the entire canon of Newbery Medalists. Very cool!
