The-Not- So-Random-Shelf: Nonfiction

It’s officially fall! Fall makes me think of apples, leaves changing colors, and Halloween. With that in mind, my hand went automatically to Everything I Know About Monsters. Slapstick humor reigns supreme in this hilarious monster guide, from a Monster Avoidance Chart to a presentation on the amount of light necessary to make a monster disappear. Readers will also learn about famous movie monsters, including how to spot a human in a monster suit (look for the zipper).

If you know someone clamoring for monster books but is too young for the scarier stories, Everything I Know About Monsters will be a hit. Combine this with Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich and its sequel , Frankenstein Takes the Cake, for a horrifyingly great stack of reads.
