Coming Soon

....to a library branch near you.

Fall 2012 is overstuffed with titles from popular authors.  Here's a sampling:

Armageddon

This is the fifth title in James Patterson's wildly popular Daniel X series for young adults.

Meet Caroline

Caroline is the newest historical American Girl doll, who lives near Lake Ontario during the War of 1812.  We're also receiving Caroline Takes a Chance, Caroline's Battle, Caroline's Secret Message, and Changes for Caroline.

Cirque de Ole

Everybody's favorite Siamese-cat-that-thinks-he's-a-Chihuahua-dog is back, and he wants to join the circus.

The Crown of Embers

The sequel to the popular Girl of Fire and Thorns has received strong reviews, included a star from Publishers Weekly. Fans of YA romantic fantasy should definitely investigate.

Days of Blood and Starlight

Add another sequel to a popular 2011 title: Days of Blood and Starlight is the sequel to the critically acclaimed and popular Girl of Smoke and Bone.

Following Grandfather

Awwww.  Rosemary Wells's latest is about a mouse missing her grandfather.  Readers with an aficionado for Boston should pick this up, as the little mouse imagines revisiting their favorite Boston hangouts.

The Last Dragonslayer

Jasper Fforde, author of the enormously popular Thursday Next mystery series (among other novels), has written his first fantasy novel for children, which is racking up strong reviews.

Lenore Finds a Friend

I adored Meet the Dogs of Bedlam Farm (I also enjoyed Jon Katz's dog memoirs for adults), so I'll have my eyes peeled for Lenore Finds a Friend.

Let's Go for a Drive!

Mo Willems's Elephant and Piggie are back! The two friends are going for a drive.  Madness ensues, of course.

Son

Lois Lowry's sequel to The Giver is one of the hotly anticipated novels of the season.  I've heard that this stands on its own; readers who have read The Giver, of course, will have a deeper understanding of the story, but it's not necessary.

Tell Me About Your Day Today

Mem Fox's Time for Bed is my #1 favorite story for gentle bedtime reads.  Tell Me About Your Day Today is getting such lovely reviews that I wonder if it will supersede Time for Bed, though.

This is Not My Hat

Jon Klassen's bestselling I Want My Hat Back has its fans and its detractors; I, for one, can't wait for This is Not My Hat!

The Twilight Saga: The Complete Archive: Memories, Mementos, And Other Treasures From the Creative Team Behind the Beloved Motion Picture

Just in time for the Most Awkward Publicity Tour Ever, this should satisfy Twilight fans as they try to get over the biggest breakup story of their lives. The century.  Since the history of creation.

Who Could That Be At This Hour?

Lemony Snicket fans, rejoice!  The master is back with a new four-part series.

Place your hold requests accordingly!
