The Not-So-Random Shelf: Nonfiction

I’ll be honest with you. I chose The Smithsonian Institution because I needed something I could read very quickly (too many books in my to be read stack). While most people wouldn’t pick up the book for pleasure reading, the book is a fine choice for children needing to do research on the Smithsonian. Pictures are clearly labeled, the writing is accessible, and it includes an index (always helpful). A glossary defines words that may be unfamiliar to young children. A solid and reliable selection for a magnificent institution.
